Football legend Maradona recovering in hospital

Football legend Diego Maradona remained in hospital for alcoholic detoxification, two days after being admitted, with a psychiatric nurse by his side, the hospital director said.
“Maradona remains under treatment with sedatives, … and support medications. There have been new routine tests, which have shown acceptable results,” Hector Pezzella, the medical chief at Guemes Hospital, told reporters.
Pezzella said that while Maradona, 46, was “fully into a period of recovery,” he was drowsy given the sedatives he has been receiving “to avoid withdrawal symptoms.”
“He is stable and is progressing very well … he did wake up and he ate breakfast,” Pezzella added, noting that eating on his own was a sign of progress.

Nobody will beat us, says McGrath

Glenn McGrath believes no side will threaten Australia in their push for a third successive World Cup, provided the defending champions keep up their current form.
McGrath, who is poised to become the leading wicket-taker in World Cup history, said Australia had the ability to win every match in the tournament, as they did in 2003.
“If we go and play the way we have I can’t really see any team getting close to us,” he told AFP. “In any Australian sport it seems that attitude is carried right across the board,” he added.

Aamir wastes no time in signing Asin

Aamir Khan starrer Ghajini has two heroines as in the original version. Aamir and Murugadoss had initially decided to keep Asin as one of the heroines. She had also acted in the Tamil version and was also reasoned to be one of the key factors for the film’s success. But then The Fanaa star then decided to do away with her.
